Tēnā koutou e te whānau
Thank you again for the beautiful kind words of support last week. I know that for many of our whānau who have friends and family in the worst effected areas, this will continue to be a stressful and worrying time for you. I hope everyone you love is accounted for and OK.
Welcome to Stacey Davy. Stacey will be working alongside Cindy in the office. Hayley is still with us but has been seconded to support our Learning Support project for the 2023 school year.
Kaiarataki. You will have noticed that we have taken down many of the Kaiarataki (the jellybean like characters) from around the school. Kaiarataki were part of a branding package rolled out in 2015, with the intent of bring a cohesive brand to Arataki School. With the work in progress around creating our identity narrative, we feel that Kaiarataki no longer fit with our direction. The identity narrative that will be developed this year, with lots of input from you, will inform future visual artefacts and branding. So come along to our Whānau Hui on Wednesday 1st of March to be part of this exciting journey.
There's a lot happening over the next couple of weeks. A short term calendar was sent out to help make it easier to keep track of everything, as I can imagine you will be getting lots of notices and Hero Posts and it would turn into information overload.
A reminder….
PAID UNION MEETING
You may be aware that teachers rejected the Governments offer late last year. This means our union members need to meet to decide on further action moving forward. The majority of our teaching staff are union members and they will be attending their Paid union Meeting on THURSDAY 2 MARCH. We ask that children be collected at 12:30pm this day. Reminders will be sent out over the next few weeks.
Have a safe and happy weekend!
