Kia ora whānau
It's been exciting to watch our classroom refurbishments begin to take shape, the classrooms have been gutted and soon the building will begin. A massive acknowledgment and thank you to Rooms 5-8 who have moved out and are making the best of their new surroundings. What a team!
We received a lot of feedback around parking spaces for drop off and pick up. While we can't make more spaces magically appear we are woking with Travel Safe (Tauranga City Council) to look at what we can do, in particular to utilise the parking on Monowai Street and capitalise on the fact that many of our families live within walking, biking or scootering distance. There was also a lot of feedback around parking behaviour, parking and driving on berms, across driveways and on yellow lines poses considerable risks to our tamariki. We can do better whānau!
I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome Jono Earles and Vanessa Harmens to our Board of Trustees, and to thank and acknowledge our outgoing members Megan Clarkin, Scott Illingworth and Alan Davies. Arataki School has been extremely fortunate to have such a high functioning, passionate board over the past three years. The care in which they have held our school has meant we have moved forward and have a solid plan in place for future improvements and growth. I am looking forward to working alongside our new Board to continue to build on this.
Cohort Entry: we are currently in the consultation process to inform our decision to adopt Cohort Entry approach. Click the button below for more information and details on how to have your say.
Have a lovely weekend!
