The priority of the Arataki School Board of Trustees are our tamariki. 

Together we make informed decisions about strategic direction, finances, human resources and legal requirements, all with the focus on raising the achievement of our tamariki.

Cindy Shaw – Board Chair
Cindy has been an Arataki trustee since 2013 and Board Chair since 2016.
She has four tamariki, three at Arataki School and the youngest looking forward to joining his siblings.

Alan Davies – Health and Safety Representative
Alan has been an Arataki Trustee since 2013.
He has a long history with Arataki School, with tamariki and mokopuna coming through the school.

Andrea Wirihana – Kopukairoa Representative
Andrea has been an Arataki trustee since 2016.
She has two tamariki here at Arataki School.

Kathryn Farthing – Community Representative
Kathryn has been an Arataki trustee since 2017.
She lives locally and has a passion for the tamariki of the Arataki Community.  With her legal and teaching background she brings a kete full of skills.

Lee Steer – Staff Representative
Lee has been an Arataki trustee since 2016.
He began teaching at Arataki Primary in 2009.

Tina Hiamoe – Kopukairoa Representative
Tina has been an Arataki trustee since 2016.
She has three children, two who have gone through Arataki School and are now at Mount College and one half way through his time at Arataki.

Megan Clarkin – New Board Member
Megan was elected onto the board in 2018.

Shelley Blakey – Principal
Shelley, as Principal, has been an Arataki trustee since 2015

Strategic Direction

Arataki Board of Trustees work with the staff and the community to develop the School Charter.  The School Charter outlines the priorities for the school.

Meetings

Arataki Board meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of the month, during school term time.  The date of our next meeting can be found on ‘Te Papa Panui o te Board of Trustees’ in the school’s office foyer.
